Minutes from the May Chapter Meeting

The meeting, which was held at Dick King's Glastar workshop, was called to order at 2:20 pm, Sunday, May 19th by secretary Norm Beaudette.  The treasurer’s report was given ($287 checking, $1393 savings, $6383 CD, total $8063), after which Phil Cady addressed last minute details for the Young Eagles rally in June.  Ray Kneipp, Jr volunteered to provide water, fruit juice and ice for the volunteers and for sale to the kids.

Howard Wells notified the members that he would take care of supplies for the coming June breakfast fly-in, and asked for volunteer help. Dave Robertson , Doug Hurd, George Schultz and Wayne Messmer volunteered, and were asked to show up at 7:30 am.  Gary Collins mentioned that he had inspected one project in April (a Rans S12XL) and that Cal Bugbee's Titan Tornado was still occupying the Chapter hangar, for final assembly.  Gary also suggested that we plan on having another auction in October.  Meeting adjourned at approximately 2:50 pm.

Meeting host Dick King presented the members with an interesting review of the history of his Glastar project, his record keeping and archiving system, and general advice on building the Glastar.

Minutes From the May Board Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Tim Fry at 12:20 pm, Sunday, May 19th.  The secretary informed the board that the notice of amendment of Articles of Incorporation had been filed with the state.  Following a brief discussion, It was agreed that we should be reasonably unrestrained in seeking professional help with issues involving future operation under 501(c)(3), once obtained, especially in regard to proper accounting and tax return preparation.

Phil Cady informed the board that he had arranged public service announcements with local radio stations and that he will send letters to previous registrants to invite their brothers, sisters and friends to the June rally.  Mike Franzago recommended notifying local Girl Scout organizations.  It was agreed that the rally would go from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, but that we would try to get registration started and the first flight launched by shortly after 8:30 am if possible.  Meeting adjourned at 1:20 pm.
