David Gallagher's Zenith 601 is flying!

Here are a few shots out the window during Monday's [Aug 11] flight.  Dave now has more than 5 hours on his Zenith and about 15 landings, including one on a grass strip.  In the first picture you can see that he is passing a yellow Piper Cub that took off in front of him at the grass strip.
Congratulations, Dave!

Chapter 174 and Build A Plane Program Cited in Plane & Pilot Magazine.  Our Chapter received recognition in the December issue of Plane & Pilot magazine for its support of the "Build A Plane" program, making a difference in the lives of area kids who want to get involved in aviation and aircraft construction.  The article, by Lyn Freeman, mentions chapter members Tim Fry, Tom Jenkins, Wayne Messmer, and of course Hal Shevers, for their strong involvement in the program, which is sponsored by Sportys, Chapter 174 and Aviation Explorer Post 78.  Get the mag, read the article, and get involved!
